Honey Glazed Ham with Pineapple (Print Version)

Sweet honey glaze, tender ham, and juicy pineapple make for an irresistible centerpiece for festive occasions.

# What You Need:

→ Ham

01 - 1 fully cooked bone-in ham, approximately 8–10 pounds

→ Glaze

02 - 1 cup honey
03 - 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
04 - 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
05 - 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
06 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
07 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

→ Garnish & Basting

08 - 1 can sliced pineapple rings, 20 ounces, drained with juice reserved
09 - 1 jar maraschino cherries, 6 ounces, drained
10 - Whole cloves (optional, for studding)

# Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a large roasting pan with aluminum foil and position ham, cut side down.
02 - Score surface of ham in diamond crosshatch. Optionally stud intersections with whole cloves.
03 - In a saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, unsalted butter, ground cloves, and 1/4 cup reserved pineapple juice. Stir until sugar dissolves.
04 - Brush one-third of the glaze evenly over ham. Tent loosely with foil and bake 1 hour.
05 - Remove foil. Arrange pineapple rings over ham, securing with toothpicks. Place a maraschino cherry in center of each ring.
06 - Brush with additional glaze. Bake uncovered 45–60 minutes, basting every 15 minutes with remaining glaze, until surface is caramelized and ham is heated through to 140°F internal temperature.
07 - Let ham rest 15 minutes. Remove pineapple and cherries, carve, and serve with pan juices.

  • The pineapple-cherry garnish makes even a simple dinner feel like a celebration.
02 -
  • Basting the ham regularly is non-negotiable, otherwise the glaze turns hard instead of glossy.
  • Letting the ham rest properly makes the slices much juicier—don’t rush this step or you’ll lose flavor.
03 -
  • Cover your roasting pan with foil for easier clean-up—the glaze can get sticky fast.
  • Swapping canned for fresh pineapple makes the entire dish brighter and more fragrant.
